Where Flavour Begins
Creating everything from scratch means every ingredient has a purpose.
We believe exceptional desserts and drinks begin with exceptional flavours, which is why we take the time to prepare our ingredients in-house. Instead of relying on pre-made fillings or artificial flavouring, we create the components that make our creations uniquely JJ Bakes.
Our pandan is a perfect example. Pandan is a tropical leaf widely used in Filipino and Southeast Asian desserts for its naturally sweet, fragrant flavour. Rather than using bottled flavouring, we create our own pandan extract by carefully blending and pressing real pandan leaves to capture its delicate notes of coconut, vanilla, and earthiness.
The same care goes into our fruit flavours, syrups, and fillings. By preparing these elements ourselves, we’re able to highlight the natural flavours and create a more balanced, vibrant experience in every bite and sip.
It takes more time, but we believe the difference is worth it.
A Celebration of Filipino Flavours
Making everything from scratch also gives us the freedom to honour our Filipino heritage while creating something uniquely JJ Bakes.
Many of the flavours we share are inspired by the ingredients, traditions, and memories we grew up with. From slow-cooked coconut kaya to rich, earthy ube and refreshing buko pandan, each flavour reflects the tropical ingredients and comforting desserts that are deeply rooted in Filipino culture.
Creating our own bases, fillings, and syrups allows us to share these beloved flavours in a way that feels nostalgic while bringing a fresh, modern approach to the table.
